City of Ann Arbor Christmas Tree Collection Discontinued
Posted on Dec 24th, 2010
Please note that the winter curbside collection of whole Christmas trees by the City of Ann Arbor has been eliminated from the current fiscal year budget. Therefore, residents can no longer place whole evergreens at the curb for pick up.
Trees may be cut into 4-foot lengths and bundled or placed inside compost curb carts and reserved for pickup with the return of the compost collection season, starting April 4, 2011.
In addition, undecorated Christmas trees may be dropped off — free and 24/7 — in the parking lot adjacent to the Drop-off Station at 2950 E. Ellsworth through Monday, Jan. 31. As most evergreen wreaths and swags also include wire and plastic, these items should be placed in the refuse for disposal.
